Disney Scrapbook Tips

Character Autographs for Scrapbooking

One tradition at all Disney theme parks is getting autographs from all of the Disney characters. This can be a fabulous addition to your Disney scrapbook. One idea is to take your own pre-made album and have each character sign your book. Be sure to leave room for photos and journaling on your Disney scrapbook page layouts. Another suggestion is to have the characters autograph their pictures from a Disney picture book or postcards. You may also choose to take your own photos with the Disney characters so you have a photograph of yourself with your favorite Disney pals. When it comes to Disney scrapbooking ideas, there are numerous ways your can scrap your favorite photos and Disney memories.

Cropping Corner Tip: Disney Scrapbooking Memories

Disneyland or Disney World vacations are probably some of the most popular vacations among families across the United States. Preserving memories from these treasured trips can be done by creating a scrapbook. Here are some suggestions on what to include in your Disney scrapbooking albums:

Photos: Make sure you take lots of photos and be sure to include people in them. Take photos at the entrance of the park and shoot some pictures in front of your favorite Disney attractions. You can even take photos at the airport or if you are driving, take some photographs along your journey.

Brochures and Maps: Save your park maps and the brochures they give you. Take a couple so you have extras to include in other books if necessary. Usually these types of things have beautiful pictures on them. They will probably not be acid-free, so you can spray them with an archival mist or just make sure you keep them away from your precious photographs.

Postcards: Purchase some postcards at a Disney gift store. Postcards make great embellishments on your scrapbook pages. The pictures on the postcards are rich in color and add character to your scrapbook page layouts.

Receipts and ticket stubs: Save your receipts so you can see how much things cost years later when you are flipping through your Disney scrapbook. Ticket stubs also make fun embellishments for your scrapbook pages.

Creating a detailed account of your Disney vacation is easy if you remember to save your mementos and take fun, action-filled photographs. There are so many scrapbooking supplies and products with a Disney theme you will have no trouble finding Disney scrapbooking paper and supplies.

Disney Scrapbook Border

Here is one Disney scrapbook layout idea. Make an easy border for your Disney scrapbook pages by using tags. Pick a theme, such as your favorite Disney character. For example, Mickey Mouse would use red, black and yellow colors. Start by cutting out your border with even strips of paper. Cut red cardstock into 2.5 inch strips and cut some yellow cardstock into 2 ¼ inch strips for a layered contrast.

Come up with some words that relate to Mickey Mouse like Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, ect., and print or stamp them on some cardstock (black or white would match this color theme). Now, create tags around your words, they can be different shapes and sizes just make sure they are small enough to fit in your border strips. Tags can be made with templates, paper punches, etc. Once you have cut out your tags, you can punch some holes in the end to add fiber or ribbon embellishments. After you insert your embellishments, you are ready to place your tags on your page border. Cover your border on all four sides with your tags in a repetitive pattern or you may choose to only do two sides. Make your tags stand out by matting some and leaving others with a single layer. Use your imagination and see what you come up with.

Cropping Corner Tip: Mickey Mouse Scrapbook Page Idea

Disney scrapbook pages are popular with scrappers. You can make Disney scrapbook layouts for any type of scrapbook, even if you aren’t scrapbooking your Disneyland vacation. Mickey Mouse is a big part of the Disney family and using this theme doesn't have to break the bank when it comes to scrapbooking supplies.

Here is one background idea for making a cute Mickey Mouse scrapbook page. First, cut out large circles in two different sizes. Use a sheet of black cardstock and cut one large 6-inch circle (for the head) and two 3-inch circles (for the ears). Glue the circles to a yellow piece of cardstock cut 11 x 11, then glue the yellow cardstock to a 12 x 12 piece of red cardstock. The large Mickey Mouse head will serve as your background and you can place a photo in the circle used for the head (this will be your focal point). Use Disney die cuts, Disney scrapbook stickers or other embellishments to add some extra flair. You can often find these extra accessories online under discount scrapbook supplies. The ears can be used to mat embellishment or as journal blocks. This simple page idea has many possibilities; it is up to you to fill in the blanks.

You can also put a different twist on this page by doing several small mouse heads instead of one large head. Use the same idea with the black circles, but scale them down to fit several of them for a dimensional background (so it looks like patterned paper with a twist) and then create some photo mats for your photographs.

Portrait Scrapbook Page from Disneyland

When you go on your Disney vacation, remember to take a full scrapbook page so you can have one of the Disneyland artists in the park draw your portrait. This is a fun item to include in your Disney scrapbook. Make sure you take enough pages for all the members of your family. If you forget to take your paper, you can still have your portrait sketched, but you might have to crop it to fit your scrapbook layout. Disneyland and Disney World offer so many fun activities and mementos, before you leave on your trip make a list of what you want to include in your Disney scrapbooking albums so you don’t miss anything.

Quick, Easy Disney Scrapbook Pages

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to create Disney scrapbook pages, your best bet is a Disney scrapbook kit. You can purchase page kits or entire scrapbook kits that include a Disney scrapbook album. Scrapbook kits and page kits come with supplies like Disney die cuts, Disney stickers and Disney scrapbook paper. You can purchase a Mickey Mouse scrapbook kit or if you like the princesses, you can do some Disney princess scrapbooking with a specialized scrapbook kit. Start out with a kit and buy more supplies to add to your scrapbook page kits. It also saves time if you make your pages uniform and using the same theme. Simple page layouts will help tell your story best.
